The Washington State Ferry system has added a new step to the travel routine for those of you visiting us from the mainland: reservations. This can be a wonderful time-saving method for trip planning. Here are the basics about the system:
Washington State Ferry is currently accepting reservations for the Winter 2015 sailing schedule in effect through March 21, 2015 and the Spring 2015 sailing schedule in effect March 22, 2015 – June 13, 2015.
San Juan Islands tiered release of space occurs at 7:00 am 2 months prior to each season start date – then 2 weeks, and then 2 days prior to each sailing date.
Reservation holders are prioritized. Limited spaces per sailing are available for drive up customers. If you don’t have a reservation, at busy times you may wait multiple sailings for a space. Since the Tucker House is conveniently located a few blocks from the ferry you may choose to leave your vehicle in Anacortes and walk on.
